What Is AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED?

American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a comprehensive emergency response course for people who may need to provide assistance during an injury, sudden illness, cardiac arrest, breathing emergency, or choking incident.

Unlike a CPR AED-only course, Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED combines first aid training with CPR and AED instruction. Participants learn how to assess an emergency, provide appropriate initial care, and take action while professional emergency medical services are being activated.

The course is intended primarily for people who do not work as healthcare providers but have a responsibility or potential need to respond to emergencies.

Benefits of First Aid CPR AED Certification

Learn how to respond to common workplace and everyday injuries

Recognize potentially life-threatening medical emergencies

Understand when and how to activate emergency medical services

Prepare for emergencies involving adults, children, and infants when covered by the selected course

Strengthen emergency preparedness at work, school, home, and community settings

Meet CPR and first aid requirements for many workplaces and organizations

I was initially hesitant to use the Voice-Assisted Manikin (VAM) for the skills portion but it's always good to try new tech. The experience was awesome. The VAM provides real-time feedback on your performance, and probably a finer accuracy compared to an instructor observing and giving feedback. The process for booking with CPR VAM was easy. I booked on the weekend. Only few steps: 1) make a profile online before arriving. 2) an email provides the codes for entering the building and office. 3) log-in and start the exam 4) receive your ecard via email shortly after. Great experience and this tech is definitely the way to refine your skills and build more confidence. I highly recommend booking with CPR VAM, so give it a try!

The directions and process was easy to follow although I had difficulty with the two person cpr. For some reason my hand position I had for the 60 was now not good enough. I was given directions and adjusted my position , I was then able to pass. I believe I was coming in on an angle And it was more the downward pressure I needed . Child cpr was easily completed Still all completed in 30 min. I like this much better than in a class!
Response from the owner:Eric, thank you for the detailed feedback. We’re glad the directions and process were clear and that the adjustment helped you pass the two person CPR. It’s great to hear child CPR went smoothly and you completed everything in about 30 minutes. We appreciate that this format worked better for you.
